UK Day 4 - More Wales

Continued touring Wales with friends.  Visited a mutual friend in Newport and had a wonderful conversation there on a wide range of topics including various aspects of human survival. Dinner conversation in Rhayader explored some of the implications of energy storage.

Thinking

Part of the conversation in Newport included an exploration of the notion of a reference model for "layering"; where a layer is an encapsulation of authority and/or concern.  This is envisioned to be analogous to the seven-layer networking model.  Several candidate layers were discussed including "planetary" and "community".  I'm wondering if "geopolitical" and "corporate" may be additional layers.  Some conversation around the interaction between layers was discussed, for example, "think globally, act locally".  The perhaps challenging discontinuities or dissimilarities within a layer were observed; China and Wales are both countries, but their concerns in at least some areas are very different.  It's an interesting notion that began to reveal some structure during our conversation.
